The Year of the Horse (in Song)

     According to the Chinese Zodiac, this is the Year of the Horse. It began on January 31, 2014, but today is the date of the celebratory parade in San Francisco. Respectfully, this post is a collection of Indie songs that include the word “horse” within its title. The songs are from different genres, but they have two common traits – (1) inclusion of the term “horse” within the title and (2) we recommend each song.

     Trent Dabbs is a singer/songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. The song that fits the criteria of this post is “The Way We Look at Horses,” which is the first song in the Noisetrade offer (click the embedded arrow to sample the music).

     Brother Dege is the performance moniker of Dege Legg of Louisiana. The song is "How to Kill  a Horse" which is currently a free download.

     A January post introduced the song “Push It” by Duologue. We feel so strongly about “Push It” that it would be unfair to compare the song to “Gift Horse.”

     House by the Lake is from Norway and presents “Dark Horse.” Its strengths are the harmonization and use of the trumpet.
