“Suddenly” by Dummy – A Song Feature

The song from New Jersey’s Dummy is frantic at times. “Suddenly” begins calmly, but soon shifts into a higher energy level in which the instruments cooperate despite being individually strong-minded. The vocals certainly demand attention as well.

According to the band, “Suddenly” tackles the feelings falling in and out of love rapidly. The members of Dummy are Ben Nelson (vocals, bass), Jeff Fetzko (guitar), Cris Nace (drums) and Matt Nace (keys), and Carlee Ahart (guitar).

Lyrics of “Suddenly” by Dummy
Suddenly I can breathe
But I can't feel what's under me
And I'll follow you
If you take the lead
'Cause I've always been blind
To what's in front of me

Take it from me
I'm trying my best
But I'm living too fast for myself
I'll just get some rest
It's all in my head
Will you drag me out of my hell?

Or leave me to die?
Or leave me to die?
Or leave me to die?

Or leave me to die?
Or leave me to die?

“Never Giving Up” by WULF – A Song Feature

“Never Giving Up” is a vocals-driven flow of persistence. The song from WULF is a refusal to give up on another. Unlike nearly all other Indie tracks, the vocals do not give way to an instrumental bridge. Still, the piano shines through the melody and the guitar isn’t shy.

WULF is a UK trio formed of Josh Bowyer, who is a self-professed Beatles fanatic, Jimmy Gardiner, and Sean O’Neil. According to promotional material with which we agree:
“‘Never Giving Up’, demonstrates the bands’ typical piano-led melodic style, but with a darker, more contemporary, edge. The dynamic chorus features gritty electric guitar riffs and kinetic percussion, offering irresistible soul-led alt-rock vibes. ‘Never Giving Up’ showcases the bands’ smooth and charismatic vocals through infectious melodies, with effortless harmonies that elevate the track even further. Complete with uplifting, authentic lyricism, listeners are sure to put this Indie anthem on repeat.”

“The Future Of An End” by Woodlock - A Song Feature

Woodlock is a Melbourne-based band that includes brothers Zech Walters (guitar/vocals) and Eze Walters (guitar/vocals), along with Bowen Purcell (drums). Dueling contributions of positive and negative characterize the music of Woodlock. A number of songs on the band’s album “The Future Of An End” reflect the fundamentally different recent experiences of the brothers. While Zech was dealing with a relationship that fell apart and with a breakdown, Eze was falling in love and getting married. In talking about the music of Woodlock, Eze explained, "Our songs have always been hopeful; Zech was coming up with these pretty heavy songs. I helped him finish them, and I kept trying to add these aspects of hope to it. So, when you listen to the album, it's like a clash of two realities."

The Melbourne trio is signed with Nettwerk Records. They recorded “The Future Of An End” in   Bowen's   garage   and at   Homesurgery   Recordings   in   Melbourne,   alongside producers Hayden  Calnin and Jackson Barclay.

“The Future Of An End” by Woodlock
Don’t you know by now
That you never came close to no one?
And everybody’s talking about you

Call it stance and perchance
I will ever romance my ego
My love for this was never about you

Everybody’s got a hope in me
Trust I’d be the one to fumble every trial
’Least I’m trying
The future of an end
I’m a zephyr bruising the eagle
I’m thinking that I wanna come down soon

Maybe one day, maybe one day soon
Maybe one day, maybe onе day soon
Maybe one day, maybe onе day soon
Maybe one day, maybe one day soon

Don’t you know by now I’ve never been this close to no one?
But I’ve been hearing rumors about you
Reminisce that all this is a manifest of our ego
Just know that I’ve been dreaming about you

Everybody’s got a hope in me
Trust I’d be the one to fumble every trial
’Least I’m trying
The future of an end
I’m a zephyr bruising the eagle
I’m thinking that I wanna come down soon

Maybe one day, maybe one day soon
Maybe one day, maybe one day soon
Maybe one day, maybe one day soon
Maybe one day, maybe one day soon

Everybody’s got a hope in me
Trust I’d be the one to fumble every trial
’Least I’m trying
Everybody’s got a hope in me
Trust I’d be the one to fumble every trial
’Least I’m flying for the first time, singing

Maybe one day, maybe one day soon
Maybe one day, maybe one day soon
Maybe one day, maybe one day soon
Maybe one day, maybe one day soon

Maybe one day, maybe one day
Maybe one day, maybe one day
Maybe one day, maybe one day
Maybe one day, maybe one day
