Sail by Summer and Grim Fawkner - Free Saturday (“FL&R”)

Finding songs that can be legally downloaded is easy. The difficult task is to find legally downloadable music that we recommend. Our plan is to post at least one Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) song each Saturday. The two “FL&R” songs in this post were released more than a year ago, but are still running strong.

Sail by Summer refer to themselves as a “melancholic Nordic band.” Quoting the bio of the duo in Bergen, Norway:
“It rains a lot in Western Scandinavia, where you'll find mountains reflected in fjords and the taste of four seasons embrace you. In this environment you'll find the melancholic Nordic indie band Sail by Summer. Fronted by Norwegian Grammy award winner William Hut with his characteristic voice and his long time Danish collaborator Jens Kristian behind the keys. Together they have created this universe inspired by the nature that surrounds them.”

Grim Fawkner is from Burnie, Tasmania, Australia. His bio explains:
Rambling man, Grim Fawkner, is no stranger to stages and streets across the globe and at home. The epitome of the itinerant musician, he draws together tales and musings from his travels and is as likely to deliver them in soft ballad form as he is face-meltingly intricate and upbeat roots/country/blues.

“Ourselves” by Grim Fawkner - if your browser does not show the download arrow, go to the Soundcloud site.

This third song is not a free download. It is included for procedural reasons. We are fans of “French Exit” by Cuffed Up. To read the review of the song CLICK HERE.
