“The Whale” by Postcards From Mars – A Song Review

     At the start of “The Whale,” the expectation is for a Johnny Cash song to break free. Not close. Instead, the Cash-like start sets a tempo suitable for a steady walk. In contrast to the intro, the outro is forceful percussion.

    In the middle portion of “The Whale,” vocals carry the song. The lead vocals are male, but the attractiveness of the track would drop if not for the female backing vocals.

     Postcards From Mars is the project of Dutch producer and composer Bart van Dalen from Hilversum, Netherlands. He is joined by Dorus Smit, Danique van Kesteren, Pieter Zaal, and Tamara van Esch.
