Broke
Royals released the title track of their upcoming album “Campr.” The
album is scheduled to drop on February 6, 2026. The song changes colors numerous
times. Following an invigorating intro, the vocals-driven segment (at 0:38) relaxes
slightly, but retains the attention of the listener. At times, the
instrumentation and vocal melodies are synchronized.
Around 2:15, the texture of “Campr” shifts again, as the guitar takes on the sonic qualities reminiscent of the early releases from The Byrds. Coincidentally(?), their previous album was available via Byrdland Records. Frenetic instrumentation follows, until the creatively off-kilter conclusion.
Broke Royals are based in Washington, D.C. The five members are Philip Basnight (vocals, guitar), Colin Cross (drums), Taimir Gore (bass), Rebecca Basnight (keys), and Ben Wilson (guitar),
