The end-of-year posting of blogworthy
songs continues, but now has a focus on bands with the term “turn” in their
band name. Below are 2025 releases that we recommend.
Flipturn is a Florida-based quartet
comprising Dillon Basse (lead vocals), Tristan Duncan (guitars), Madeline
Jarman (bass guitar), Mitch Fountain (guitars, synthesizers), and Devon
VonBalson (percussion). In early 2025, they released the album “Burnout Days.”

Turnstile is a Baltimore band formed of Brendan Yates (vocals), Pat McCrory (guitar) Meg Mills (guitar), Franz Lyons (bass), and Daniel Fang (drums). While it’s not true for all of their music, “I Care” has a feel of The Police.
