“Lie to Me (Große Lüge)” by The Bright Light Social Hour – A Song Feature

The band describes “Lie to Me (Große Lüge)” as an examination of the ease of accepting outrageous lies told by the powers that be. “It has these very clean and modern lines. There’s less work to do to go in and find the emotions. This song really set a good precedent for developing the rest of the songs.” That last reference is to the rest of the songs on the album “Jude Vol. I,” which will be soon followed by “Jude Vol. II.” According to Google Translate, Große Lüge is German for big lie.

The Bright Light Social Hour is an American psychedelic rock band from Austin, Texas. The members are Jackie O'Brien (bass, vocals), Curtis Roush (guitar, vocals), Edward Braillif (synthesizers, guitar), and Joseph Mirasole (drums). They will touring heavily in 2019, with the West Coast leg occurring in May. Among the stops are performances at Catalyst (May 28) in Santa Cruz and Rickshaw Stop (May 30) in San Francisco.
