“Everybody, I Love You” attacks with the rhythmic mastery and emphasis of our favorite LCD Soundsystem singles. Sure, a piano is well suited for carrying a song’s melody and for enhancing the sentiment of the song. But the physics of the piano make it a percussion instrument at heart – a series of hammers are positioned to generate specific notes. In the control of Ed The Dog, the piano embraces its brotherhood with drums and other percussion instruments.
Ed The Dog is the UK band based in High Wycombe. The band’s Facebook page identifies the members as Ed Wetenhall, Charlie Lashmar, Zak Tozer, and Ste Anderson. In talking about “Everybody, I Love You,” frontman Ed Wetenhall explained that the song is “about honesty. Total honesty really, and how accepting yourself as you are can have consequences on your relationships.”
