Glass Violet - Free Saturday (“FL&R”)

Finding songs that can be legally downloaded is easy. The difficult task is to find legally downloadable music that we recommend. Our plan is to post at least one Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) song each Saturday.

“Over the Moor” is a song about ends and starts, and about how different phases of life often pass you by without you noticing it’s happened. The song from Glass Violet touches upon the desire for finding a certain fire within new beginnings.

Glass Violet is a band from Bristol, UK. Alex John (vocals, guitar) and Tom Hurdiss (guitar, vocals) met in the summer of 2018 and began working on material for Glass Violet for several months before recruiting Matt West (drums), Josh Walsh (bass) and Declan Pollard (synth, keys). The band takes inspiration from artists such as Kasabian, The Killers and Foals, which has resulted in an anthemic sounding set of songs consisting of huge choruses, soaring guitar riffs and melodramatic breakdowns.
