“Through” (feat. LBRS) by Flashback81 – A Song Feature

An insurance regulator by day, a music producer by night.” That’s the bio of Flashback81, which is the performance moniker of Howard Liebers in Washington, DC. In the song “Through,” the piano is gentle and elegant in support of layered vocals. The lead vocals are harmonized, while the backing vocals are often “distanced” and haunting.

“Through” (feat. LBRS) touches the emotions. Perhaps erroneously applying a process of elimination of the credits, we assume that LBRS is comprised of Jeff Lipton, Vlada Bojic Bojketic, Maria Rice, and Daniel Schuster. The other contributors to “Through” are Anthony Vezirian (drums), Michael Maas (piano), Camille De Carvalho (ondes martenot), and Joshua Altman & Levi Altman (magnets). The mixing magic is the work of Lavallette.

Lyrics of “Through” (feat. LBRS) by Flashback81
and I'm waiting
and I'm waiting again
Keep replaying
keep replying the ending

you cant imagine the noise
the toiling anger inside

watch me fall down again
you said we were friends
like you always knew

but where were you
when we were through
and you left.

you left me in the back of the dreamer
and I went out like “I could be either
oh what do you want honey
why don’t you stay funny, alright?”
Oh say something to me alright.

oh and it’s tiring
all this moving around
you see the sign
and call me out

here i am once more
stuck between inside and the door
the door to your soul, honey
the door to your soul.

watch me fall down again
you said we were friends
like you always knew

but where were you
when we were through
and you left.

you left me in the back of the dreamer
and I went out like “I could be either
oh what do you want honey
why don’t you stay funny, alright?”
Oh say something to me alright.

oh and it’s tiring
all this moving around
you see the sign
and call me out

oh and it’s tiring
all this moving around
you see the sign
and call me out
