Of Monsters and Men haven’t moved, but their sound has traveled a great distance, musically and geographically. Based upon the first single from their upcoming sophomore album, the band has reinvented itself. “Alligator” is more Rock and less Folk. With no acoustic guitar (or accordion) in sight, the band performed the song on the Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show. The transition is similar to the one by Mumford & Sons.

But listening to “Rays of the Sun” by 15OH5, the sound traveled 7,000 miles. 15OH5 is from Gauteng, South Africa, and is an audio doppelgänger of the Iceland’s Of Monsters and Men. Everyone should be satisfied. The members of 15OH5 are Juanie Willemse (lead vocals, guitar), Emile Vermeulen (piano, vocals), Quinton Boucher (drums, vocals), and Ben Schempers (bass). The name of the band comes from a statement that they planned to Rock-out like it was the year 1505.
