Free and Legal Downloads? Yes, at least temporarily. Bands often temporarily permit free downloads of their releases. The end of an offer is usually based on the expiration of a set period of time. But at least for now, here are songs that qualify as Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) downloads.
Finding songs that can be legally downloaded is easy. The difficult task is to find legally downloadable music that we recommend. Our hope is to post FL&R songs each Friday.
The White Raven will release an album on September 16, so “Rose” may only be available as a FL&R song until that date. But it will remain as a recommended song. Helsingborg, Sweden, based The White Raven is a four piece unit consisting of Sebastian Wijk (vocals, guitars), Marcus Erlander (guitars), Gabriel Melin (bass guitar) and Daniel Engdahl (drums).

Outside Animals generates its Indie Rock from the Los Angeles area. They are the duo of Colin Orthmann (vocals, guitar) and Mark Peters (bass). Quoting their Facebook page:
“Outside Animals is going a little bit against the flow right now in LA music. There are a lot of bands that are going for an indie-pop or indie-folk sound, while we're really going for a garage rock feel. No synthesizers and no backing tracks while we're playing live.”
