“Butterflies” by Wyland – A Song Review

“Butterflies” enters the room and establishes a Coldplay atmosphere. First the piano and then the vocals have that air. But a little more than a minute into the song, there is more of a Folk vibe. Then, just before the 2:30 mark, that vibe is pushed toward the exit by a guitar with an insistence on Rock. “Butterflies” is a song that is pleasing on multiple levels.
“Butterflies” belongs to Wyland, a quartet based in Kearny, New Jersey. The members are Ryan Sloan (vocals, piano, guitar), Mauricio Salazar (guitar), Zach Calidonna (bass) and Richard Joyce (drums).
