It is a recipe that brings the taste buds to attention and even justifies a trace of salivation. Briefly, "Hot Heavy Summer" starts with arguably the most respected and influential singer/songwriter of this decade (or more), adds a stunningly good Electro Pop duo, and frees the guitars to both lay a seductive Lord Huron-like melodic backing and “Shoegaze” soundscapes.
Ben Howard collaborated with Sylvan Esso in the recently shared "Hot Heavy Summer." It is one of three songs that were recorded during sessions for Howard’s third album, “Noonday Dream.” They were not fit onto the album, but leaving them in the “vault” would have been a crime against Indie humanity. Howard explained, “"The recording sessions for Noonday Dream were so varied and over quite a period of time. There were little gems that we didn't know what to do with but it felt right to put these three together, both separate and a part of the album so to speak."
Ben Howard is a UK artist, while Sylvan Esso is from Durham, North Carolina. Sylvan Esso consists of singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn.
