After causing a bright “blip” on the Indie radar screen with the single “Toes,” Somebody’s Child re-enters in a different sector of the screen. Clearly, the Irish multi-instrumentalist holds the required appreciation and necessary skills for generating richness within multiple genre sensibilities. While “Toes” was aligned with Synth Pop, “Jungle” sits within the Rock sector. The common ground is established by the signature vocal characteristics that enable Somebody’s Child to “wear emotions on his sleeve,” but “Jungle” is driven by a persistent guitar hook and a powerful rhythm section.
While speaking about "Jungle," Sombody’s Child explained:
“’Jungle’ to me signifies a more mature artistic direction and development based on the songs I've released to date. It touches on different feelings than previous releases, such as loneliness, anguish, hurt and isolation. It's a powerful song with a deep meaning to me personally. I have gone through some tough times mentally and I guess it reflects that quite a bit, but I don't like giving too much away as I think it's important for the listeners
to make up their minds first.”
Somebody’s Child is the moniker of a 24-year old vocalist/songwriter in Dublin, Ireland. In just nine months as an act, he’s gathered quite the collection of accolades. His debut “Make You Alright” and follow up single “Toes” saw national Irish radio play across a multitude of stations garnering a total of 7.3 million listener impacts, with his follow up single “Distance” landing over 5 million listener impacts as well as “Song of the Week” on Irish radio station, RTE 2fm. Further afield, all three tracks have gained momentum at BBC Introducing, as well as Make You Alright picking up traction on Radio X, which led to Somebody’s Child respectively playing the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals, and John Kennedy’s Radio X Summer Party.
Now accompanied by a band Somebody’s Child will be supporting All Tvvins during an Irish tour in October [tickets - CLICK HERE], as well as playing Irish Music Week in Dublin on 4 October.
