Music Rooms – Tourists and Wylder

In their song “Quiet Room,” Tourists skillfully weave soothing vocals and strong guitar riffs with lost-love lyrics and an irreverent answer to a religion-based question. The result is a song fabric that demands attention.

The members of Tourists are Jamie Giles (vocals/guitar), Scott Morton (drums), Matthew White (bass), Lloyd Bastow (guitar) and Tom Wilkinson (synthesizer). The participants in the conversation beginning at the 3:25 mark of “Quiet Room” are Gay Byrne (who asks the question) and Stephen Fry.  James Bragg deserves the production credit for “Quiet Room.”

This is not Wylder’s first visit to Indie Obsessive. We are fans of their song “Sunstroke.” Wylder is an Indie Folk band from Fredericksburg, Virginia/Washington DC. “Living Room” takes full advantage of the strings and the group vocals that are at the disposal of Wylder.
The members of Wylder are Will McCarry (vocals, guitar), Lonnie Southall (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Russell Michelson (piano, vocals) and Lavar Edmonds (violin, cello).
