“End of Love” by Final Stair – A Song Feature

During the first 33 seconds of “End of Love,” the vocals, the clean guitar, and the cello draw the listener into the intimacy of the single from Final Stair. The cello is one of the two most compelling instruments in conveying sentiment. The other is the slide guitar. With the completion of the 33 seconds, the word “Us” triggers thunderous instrumentation. The striking contrast reverses itself when the chorus ends and the second verse begins. The lyrics are included at the bottom of this post.

It has been a longer than usual stretch for us to go without featuring music from a band that includes brothers. That ends today. Final Stair is a Berlin-based band formed by twin brothers Istvan and Denes Vörös in 2012, with current drummer André Seidel joining four years later.

Lyrics of “End of Love” by Final Stair
We've got the habit to hurt people we love the most.
The never ending why remains untold.
Countless words were spread out but we've fallen quiet.
Thought everything is alright.

I still believe in us.

We belong together.
Oh, everywhere! Drums and gunfire.
Did we just hear the end of love?
Memories always hurt.

We expected so many things in our world.
No common future to grow old.
I can't take this weight on my shoulders no more.
Still hear you walking down the floor.

I still believe in us.

We belong together.
Oh, everywhere! Drums and gunfire.
Did we just hear the end of love?
Memories always hurt.

One wrong move, stalemate, fall apart.
We did choose, it's too late, a new start.
Take your time, cry it out, very loud.
One wrong move, stalemate, fall apart.

We've got the habit to hurt people we love the most.
The never ending why remains untold.

I still believe in us.

We belong together.
Oh, everywhere! Drums and gunfire.
Did we just hear the end of love?
Memories always hurt.

I still believe in us.

We belong together.
(One wrong move, stalemate.)
Oh, everywhere! Drums and gunfire.
(We did choose, too late.)
Did we just hear the end of love?
(Take your time, cry it out.)
Memories always hurt.
(One wrong move, stalemate.)
