Free Friday (“FL&R”) – December 9

Free and Legal Downloads? Yes, at least temporarily. Bands often temporarily permit free downloads of their releases.  The end of an offer is usually based on the expiration of a set period of time.  But at least for now, here are songs that qualify as Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) downloads.
Finding songs that can be legally downloaded is easy. The difficult task is to find legally downloadable music that we recommend. The hope is to post at least one FL&R song each Friday.
Hollow Coves is the duo Ryan Henderson and Matt Carins in Brisbane, Australia. The song “Coastline will be on their debut album “Wanderlust.”

In terms of the percussion and some of the guitar, ”An Able Beast” has touches of the California band Lord Huron. The vocals easily distinguish the two bands. Feelds uses the falsetto range and recruits a backing female voice. This is a solo project of Melbourne musician James Seymour, but the female voice belongs to Ariela Jacobs and the saxophone play is contributed by Ethan Jenkins.

“We Have Eyes as Well as Ears” by Morningbell is a fusion of Orchestral Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Experimental Soul, and African-style vocalization. The band is based in Gainesville, Florida. The members are brothers Travis and Eric Atria, Stacie Atria (Eric’s wife), and Chris Hillman. The element of “experimental” dominates the final 20 seconds.
