“Man’s The Only Bird Who Has No Feathers” by Pajaro Sunrise – A Song Review

We don’t often find the opportunity to feature a song released by musicians based in Madrid, Spain. Typically, the songs are in Spanish, so we are left behind with respect to an ability to fully appreciate the track.
Pajaro Sunrise has an exception. Yes, the lyrics of “Man’s The Only Bird Who Has No Feathers’ are in English. But the song arrangement is equally important to qualifying the track as an exception. At the start, the instrumental support is elegant, yet simple. The same applies to the song’s outro. In the center, the song is more textured when the instruments are supporting the vocals and more frenetic when the vocals step aside. The arrangement of instruments without vocals first appears at the 1:23 mark
The Bandcamp page of the song identifies the contributing musicians as Bart Davenport (bass), Charlie Bautista (fuzz guitar, synths), Shawn Lee (drums), Yuri Méndez (vocals, acoustic and electric guitar).

“Man’s The Only Bird Who Has No Feathers” by Pajaro Sunrise – A Song Review

Lyrics of “Man’s The Only Bird Who Has No Feathers”
Man’s the only bird who has no feathers,
Man makes no mistakes, he follows orders.
Heaven gets the best of every sinner
Just to shut its doors on him as he gets closer.

A man will dig a hole and then fill it up
With the remains of his soul, with time.
A man ties a rope around the things he loves
But when he grabs the other end, they are gone

There are as many wrongs as there are men
And we’re no better darling, so let’s pretend
We have somewhere to go, a destination and a call,
Let’s pretend our hearts are lined with gold.

A man will dig a hole and then fill it up
With the remains of his soul, with time.
A man ties a rope around the things he loves
But when he grabs the other end they are gone

Man is the only bird who has no feathers,
Man makes no mistakes, he builds more churches
Heaven gets the best of every sinner
Just to shut its doors on him as he gets closer.
