ELD and Ratnang Singh - Free Friday/Saturday (“FL&R”)

Free and Legal Downloads? Yes, at least temporarily. Bands often temporarily permit free downloads of their releases.  The end of an offer may be based on the expiration of a set period of time or on a limited number of downloads.  But at least for now, here are songs that qualify as Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) downloads.
Finding songs that can be legally downloaded is easy. The difficult task is to find legally downloadable music that we recommend. Our plan is to post at least one FL&R song each Friday/Saturday.

“Every Girl For Herself” begins without fanfare, but the track from ELD is a stepped build of both intensity and elegance. The gentle piano and soft vocals at the start turn to pulsating synth, pounding bass drum, and forceful harmonization before the downtempo conclusion.

ELD is from Göteborg, Sweden. The name is ancient Nordic for “fire.” The band membership is not clear from ELD’s Internet presence. The bio on their Facebook page identifies “frontman Niels Nankler and fellow producer John London,” while their website changes one name and adds a third - Niels Nankler, London Rönneklev, and Johan Weber. ELD frequently collaborates with other skilled musicians. The single “Every Girl For Herself” includes vocal contributions from Lovisa Samuelsson and Måns Jälevik.

“Stella Gardner” is making a repeat appearance. It was featured earlier this week. We did not note that it is offered on a “Name Your Price” basis on the Bandcamp site – which is at Bandcamp download.

On the original appearance, it was noted, “’Stella Gardner' is a gentle character portrait of a person damaged by a past relationship - “She likes the quiet, but the loneliness kills her.’”  If interested, read the full post at CLICK HERE.
