“The Tide” by La Force – A Song Feature

La Force is Ariel Engle, vocalist and member of Broken Social Scene. The music of La Force is Nocturnal Electronic Pop, featuring Engle's enchanting vocals over dynamic production. She is based in Canada, but her parents have diverse backgrounds, which may explain the lyric in “The Tide:”
I've got ancient time
My mother's history eye
My father's eastern palm
Where I always belong

Lyrics of “The Tide” by La Force
Consider it a bee sting that won't leave you
An arrowhead born in the depths of your sinew
Once stung will sting
You can't stand instinct
Still so much love in that hate

Consider it a bee sting that won't leave you
An arrowhead born in the depths of your sinew
Once stung will sting
You can't stand instinct
Still so much love
Still so much love in that hate

The tide has come for everyone but you
The tide has come for everyone but you

Tell my fortune teller
Don't leave the sting behind
Cause I've got copper coins and pills
I've got oceans wide as sins
I've got everybody's curse
And the way toward is sorely needed now he's gone

Raise the alarm
[8 times]

Raise the alarm
[8 times]

Tell my fortune teller
Don't leave the sting behind
I've got copper coins and powder
I've got back and forward time
Cause the tide has come for everyone but you

I've got copper coin
I've got spirit
I've got wonder
I've got people
I've got armour
Can't tilt my heart

I've got ancient time
My mother's history eye
My father's eastern palm
Where I always belong

Before I was yours
I could do no harm
Do no harm

Still so much love
Still so much love
Still so much love
Still so much love in that hate
Still so much love
Still so much love in that hate
