“Feel It Coming” by Woodlock - A Song Feature

During the first 65 seconds of “Feeling It Coming,” Woodlock assembles a spirited melodic vehicle that carries a solemn lyrical passenger. The song begins with guitars supported on a synth underlayer. The combination is the initial enticement; then, the vocals enter to more effectively grip the attention of a listener. That grip is tightened by the power of the kickdrum at 0:38. Still, it’s not until just beyond the one-minute mark that the attractiveness of “Feel It Coming” is fully assembled and appreciated.

The lyrics of the single are included at the bottom of this post. They relate to handling the build of anger. Woodlock describes “Feel It Coming” as an upbeat, uplifting, and anthemic song that tackles the idea of exploding anger. "For me, it's about realizing I had a breaking point, I couldn't sit there and play quietly forever," Zech Walters offers. "People talk about bottling stuff up. It's an unhealthy way to go about things."

The dueling contributions of positive and negative characterize the music of Woodlock, rather than being unique to “Feel It Coming.” The Melbourne-based band is comprised of brothers Zech Walters (guitar/vocals), Eze Walters (guitar/vocals), and Bowen Purcell (drums). A number of songs on the band’s upcoming album “The Future Of An End” reflect the fundamentally different recent experiences of the brothers. While Zech was dealing with a relationship that fell apart and with a breakdown, Eze was falling in love and getting married. In talking about the music of Woodlock, Eze explained, "Our songs have always been hopeful; Zech was coming up with these pretty heavy songs. I helped him finish them, and I kept trying to add these aspects of hope to it. So, when you listen to the album, it's like a clash of two realities."

The Melbourne trio is now signed with Nettwerk Records. The band recorded “The Future Of An End” in   Bowen's   garage   and at   Homesurgery   Recordings   in   Melbourne,   alongside producers Hayden  Calnin (a  Nettwerk  solo  artist  in  his  own  right)  and Jackson Barclay. Lyrics of “Feel It Coming” by Woodlock
I can’t stop, this is coming out
All the patterns we try to hide
But I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it
Yea, I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it

I know I could've been better
Clocks stop, we are out of time
But I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it
Yea, I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it

And I know damn well we've been here before
And I know that if I bend I'll fall,
Can you feel it? I can feel it
For the sake of your time we're fighting for
Show the world all my violent flaws
Cause I feel it, I can feel it
I feel it

I've been lost in another lie
Start with me, myself and I
But I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it
Yea, I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it

And I know damn well we've been here before
And I know that if I bend, I'll fall
Can you feel it? I can feel it
For the sake of your time we're fighting for
Show the world all my violent flaws
Cause I feel it, I can feel it

Cause I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it
Yea. I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it

And I know damn well we've been here before
And I know that if I bend, I'll fall
Can you feel it? I can feel it
For the sake of your time we're fighting for
Show the world all my violent flaws
Cause I feel it, I can feel it

Cause I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it
Yea, I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it
Yea I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it
Yea, I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I feel it coming up
I
