“Seconds” by Grey Glass – A Song Review

Grey Glass is Utah’s most recent contribution to guitar-driven, arena-ready Rock. “Seconds” is a good example. The track begins with vocals and higher-frequency guitar, then transitions to a more distorted guitar near the 30-second mark.

Gray Glass is based in Provo, Utah. The members are Tal Haslam (vocals, guitar), Adam Hastings (keys), Scott Knutson (drums), Eli Pratt (bass), and Casey Ball (guitar, vocals).

Lyrics of “Seconds” by Grey Glass
All this sunshine on my skin
It feels redeeming
Let it burn away the guilt that makes me heavy
Calloused hands and broken bones
And bright blue eyes that make you shake
Baby, when you're all alone

Can't you see
I'm seconds from the edge
And you could save my life
Can't you see
I'm risen from the dead
Don't you cut me down

There is beauty in decay
But I am just too young to die alone
Killing time inside my head
'Cause I am the wide-eyed
Son of the limelight
And I'm watching you while you sleep

Can't you see
I'm seconds from the edge
And you could save my life
Can't you see
I'm risen from the dead
Don't you cut me down

You come rolling back to me
You're afraid
And all you see
Is the end
But you don't

Can't you see
I'm seconds from the edge
And you could save my life
Can't you see
I'm risen from the dead
Don't you cut me down
