There are those times when songs are purchased, enjoyed for a number of days or weeks, and then undeservedly neglected. When the desktop (or other area for temporary music collection) is reviewed, there is a rediscovery of good music. Here are three songs we rediscovered this week.
Kid Canaveral is based in Edinburgh. The band released an album in early 2014. Our favorite song from that album is “Low Winter Sun.”

Edward R. Roberts claims his hometown as Melbourne/London. His song “Time Will Tell” is currently available as a free download.

Typically, we aren’t fans of finger snapping. But it works well in “Wings” by Field Report. This band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin has been introduced to Indie Obsessive before. And we had the opportunity to see the band in Santa Cruz, California only a few weeks ago. The lighting was poor and the sound was rich. Pictures are included here.
“Wings” is interesting for reasons that include the use of “whiffs” of instruments, such as short visits of the piano and banjo within the first minute of the song. And we particularly enjoy the crescendo of the keyboard later in the song.
