“Ridiculous” by Mleo – A Song Review

As a follow-up to the release of their debut LP 'Sunken City' in 2014, LA-based Jazz/Pop quartet Mleo have just released their latest single “Ridiculous.”

For such a young band, Mleo have the polish and swagger of industry veterans, and their fresh take on classic Jazz is nothing short of brilliant. That classic sound is blended with elements of modern Pop to give it that current feel. Ultimately, their maturity and growth as musicians in the last year are evident in every note and nuance, as clean guitar tones and driving drums ease the track forth with groove-laden rythyms, lush atmospherics, and light, airy arpeggios. The track starts off slow and slowly builds in energy and intensity, finishing off on a high.

Mleo have set the bar high for themselves early in their career, but they have the drive and collective know-how to surpass that bar and achieve even greater success moving forward. Wherever their career takes them, they’re definitely one to watch.
