Harmonization by siblings can be extraordinarily attractive. Similarities in the vocal chords and other voice-influencing physical characteristics can carry an unfair advantage over other bands hunting for voices that work well together. The Morning Yells show the “natural beauty” in their music.
The Morning Yells include Laura Stancil (bass, vocals) and her brother Phil (guitar, vocalcs). The other two members of the Los Angeles band are (guitar, keys, vocals), and Curran McDowell (drums, lap steel, percussion).
While preparing for this post, we noticed that The Morning Yells are scheduled to visit the San Francisco Bay Area on Saturday May 26. Better yet, their visit coincides with a celebration of Burgers and Brew. The Burger & Brew Fest occurs in Fremont, with The Morning Yells providing entertainment from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
