“Please Just Let Me Know” by Arroyo – A Song Review

The debut single of Arroyo is a brooding plea for context around the destiny of a relationship - “But I know you’re ready to let me go, so please just let me know.” Despite its down-tempo darkness, “Please Just Let Me Know” is an infectious march that supports soulful vocals. Slices of Electronica are seductively injected into Rock/Pop sensibilities to yield a track with appeal across a range of genres.

Arroyo is Jay Bainbridge and Matt Bartlem from Gold Coast, Australia. In late 2018, Arroyo will release an album that will include “Please Just Let Me Know.” Quoting the press material:
“With a style reminiscent of the likes of alt-J, James Vincent McMorrow and Bon Iver, ‘Please Just Let Me Know’ is a soul-infused slice of down-tempo indie-rock. Intense, yet spacious dynamics enable the melody, groove and structure to float elegantly throughout, creating a meticulously composed piece that encompasses dark pop-sensibilities.
After working alongside the likes of artists from Jarryd James to Dead Letter Circus, it was now time for this pair to write their own story - and thus, after one spontaneous studio session, Arroyo was formed.”
