The instrumental build at the start of the debut single from Tall Waves creates an expectation, and the body of the song delivers. “Love Of A Lifetime” begins with no-frills guitar and percussion. The first “decoration” occurs with a four-note melodic interjection fifteen seconds into the track. Shortly afterward, a guitar makes it official – Tall Waves favors the Rock genre.
Lyrically, the song is about a relationship. Yet, “Love Of A Lifetime” avoids the trite expressions characteristic of love songs by painting a picture of the relationship’s habitat, rather than merely espousing devotion.
Information about the band is difficult to find. Tall Waves is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. From metadata on their Soundcloud landing page, it appears that the members are named Tim, Ben, Matt and Sean. We look forward to their next release.
