“Young At Heart” projects itself as a coordinated, harmonized advancement through a message. The percussion is particularly consistent in conveying a sense of forward movement. Interestingly, the message doesn’t follow the same trajectory, since the lyrics reflect the limitations and uncertainties that come from being young, even if it’s only young at heart. Thus, the lyrics begin with a proposal for compromise:
Meet me in the middle
And maybe then we can decide
If you show me your deck of cards
Then baby I will show you mine
The song will be on the Milo Greene’s album “Adult Contemporary,” which will be released on September 7, 2018 via Nettwerk Music Group. Tour dates in support of the album are included at the bottom of this post.
The members of Milo Greene are Robbie Arnett, Graham Fink and Marlana Sheetz. A strength of the group is that all three contribute to the songwriting and vocal duties. They are based in Los Angeles, but Milo Greene relocated to Nashville and recruited the Grammy-nominated producer Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses, Lissie) to help them write and record ‘Adult Contemporary.’ The song “Young At Heart” was the first one written after their arrival. “We focused hard on each individual part,” Marlana says. “Each instrument needed to be important while telling its story. One guitar line had to say something on its own. The snare would tell part of the story.”

Lyrics of “Young At Heart” by Milo Greene
Meet me in the middle
And maybe then we can decide
If you show me your deck of
cards
Then baby I will show you mine
But we try too hard
'Cause we're just young hearts
If we stay strong between the
ears
Then maybe we won't fuck this
up
There's always heartbreak on
the horizon
Because words are not enough
We try too hard
Then we walk the line
Well if you hold me till the
lights go out
I'll hold you in the dark,
we're young at heart
Ooo, we're all just young at
heart
We're all, we're all
Ooo, we're all just young at
heart
We're all, we're all
We're all just young at heart
We'll share a twin sized bed
together
In the basement at your mom's
And we'll be stay at home
actors
On the run from job to job
But not for long
'Cause we're just young hearts
Well if you hold me till the
lights go out
I'll hold you in the dark,
we're young at heart
Ooo, we're all just young at
heart
We're all, we're all
Ooo, we're all just young at
heart
We're all, we're all
We're all just young at heart
Are you never gonna go in alone
Are you never gonna go in alone
Are you never gonna go in alone
Are you never gonna go in alone
Ooh, we're all just young at
heart
We're all, we're all
Ooh, we're all just young at
heart
We're all, we're all
We're all just young at heart
If you hold me till the lights
go out
I'll hold you in the dark,
we're young at heart
Well if you hold me till the
lights go out
I'll hold you in the dark,
we're young at heart
