The Twilight Sad, Y La Bamba, and Metric - Free Friday/Saturday (“FL&R”)

Free and Legal Downloads? Yes, at least temporarily. Bands often temporarily permit free downloads of their releases.  The end of an offer may be based on the expiration of a set period of time or on a limited number of downloads.  But at least for now, here are songs that qualify as Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) downloads.
The focus of this FL&R post is on tracks that were recently featured by the KEXP site as being a “Song of the Day.” Out of respect for KEXP, we will identify the page of the featured song, rather than providing a direct link to the download. That requires an extra step, but KEPX has some useful information about the bands, so it's worthwhile.
The Twilight Sad are a Post Punk bad from Scotland. To download “I/m Not Here [missing face]” visit the KEXP site:

Lyrics of “I/m Not Here [missing face]” by Twilight Sad
You're too close for comfort
You're too close to comfort me
It's too close for comfort
It's too close to comfort me

It won't stop if the tears come back
I'll drink everything inside
It doesn't stop when the tears run dry
I'll take everything inside

I don't wanna be around you anymore
I can't stand to be around you anymore
I don't wanna be around you anymore
You don't wanna be around me anymore
I don't wanna be around me anymore
You can't stand to be around me anymore

I'm not here
And it's all too
Far, too clear

Forgot the summer
There's no light so I can't see
You're too close for comfort
You're too close to comfort me
Will you stop if the tears come back
I'll drink everything inside
Will you stop when your tears run dry
I'll drink everything inside

I don't wanna be around you anymore
I can't stand to be around you anymore
I don't wanna be around you anymore
You don't wanna be around me anymore
You can't stand to be around me anymore
I don't wanna be around me anymore

I'm not here
And it's all too
Far too clear

It's too close
It's too close
You're too close
You're too close

I don't wanna be around you anymore
I can't stand to be around you anymore
I don't wanna be around you anymore
You don't wanna be around me anymore
I don't wanna be around me anymore
I can't stand to be around me anymore

Why'd do it?
Why do you do this?
Why do you do this to yourself?
Why do you do this to yourself?
Why'd do it?
And why do you do this?
Why do you do this to yourself?
Why do you do this to yourself?
And why'd do it?
And why do you do this?
Why do you do this to yourself?

Quoting:
“Modafinil Blues” finds Matthew Dear four years removed from his last LP and lost in the low-hanging gloam of Topanga Canyon. The producer wrote it in the evening hours with Troy Nōka, a longtime Frank Ocean collaborator. The song hints at conceptual roadblocks requiring more than a simple or single solution; the manifestation of a meteoric spike in cognitive function, yearning for some form of collective freedom, followed by the inevitable descent into the complexity of the fix. Dear’s baritone verse acknowledges that this existential arc is flawed, and therein lies the blues. Moody and nuanced, slightly undone and hugging the curves of the canyon; a polyrhythmic glissade through cerebral fog.
