"Electrify My Love" by Mondo Cozmo – A Song Feature

 

     We admit to having a weakness for songs that utilize a choir for the backing vocals. In "Electrify My Love," a single word is repeated, but the contribution is powerful. The first “Higher” is at the 1:33 mark, and the single from Mondo Cozmo jumps. But it is during the conclusion that the choir is most significant, since the elegance of their vocals anchor the melody as the guitars and percussion create turbulence.
 
          Mondo Cozmo is the performance name of Josh Ostrander. He is from Philadelphia, but now resides in the Los Angeles area. “Electrify My Love” is a single that will be on the album “This is for the Barbarians,” which is scheduled for release on April 8th via Last Gang Records.
 
      While talking about the single, Ostrander said:
   “‘Electrify My Love’ was the last song to make the record but it was specifically written to be the first song on the album. We wanted the long musical intro to have a calming effect and the opening lyrics to be of comfort. ‘Good evening everyone, I hope this finds you well.' A sincere check in on everyone after what we have all been through. I love how the chorus punches ya in the heart. I think it is the perfect opening track to the album and it’s gonna be an absolute killer live.”
