“This Summer's Been Lethal” by Scrounge - A Song Feature

Scrounge packs a powerful instrumental punch for a two-person band and their single “This Summer's Been Lethal” packs much brooding discontent into slightly more than two minutes. Yet, the song somehow feels energizing and almost hopeful. Scrounge explained:
““This Summer’s Been Lethal’ is a retrospective track rooted in uncertainty, desperation and disappointment despite all the excitement of summer… Recorded on the hottest day of the year, we wanted to make something dismal yet danceable.”

Scrounge is the South London duo of Lucy Alexander (vocals, guitar) and Luke Cartledge (drums). Their genre is Post-Punk. They are scheduled for a quick visit to the U.S., performing at SXSW in Austin, Texas.

Lyrics of “This Summer's Been Lethal” by Scrounge
Serotonin doesn’t speak to me the way it used to,
This summer’s been lethal.
I can not forget how I looked across the deck at those people, so long ago,
And where’s this house I call a home?
This summer’s been lethal.
At best, I cannot connect,
Collect my feelings I’m a wounded wreck in

Pain!

It’s happening again,
I lie awake afraid,
Cracked knuckles red,
I don’t detest,
Blinkered vision is the only way.

Useless,
I don’t really care that much
I’m out of touch
I’m ruthless blood on hands,
With one more glance that I can’t stand,
This summer’s been lethal.
And I’m in debt, there’s nothing left,
This summer’s been lethal.
At best, I cannot connect,
Collect my feelings I’m a wounded wreck in

Pain!

It’s happening again,
I lie awake afraid,
Cracked knuckles red,
I don’t detest,
Blinkered vision is the only way.

This summer’s been lethal
[Repeating]
