In “Take A Walk,” Judah & the Lion shared their most robust “band vocals” release. Such vocals are an accomplishment for a band with a core of two members - Judah Akers (vocals, guitar) and Brian Macdonald (mandolin, vocals). But the richness is appropriate for a song with lyrical content about a group of friends, even though the friends are not in the condition that envisioned as kids.
“Take A Walk” feels like the right time for us to reclaim some of the joy that can be hard to come by these days. We don't want to be positive just for the sake of being positive, we've seen our fair share of pain, and we hope that comes across in our music, and lyrics too. Hopefully, this song represents both sides: pure fun and excitement alongside the reality of life being really hard.
