“Under The Sun” by Highasakite - A Song Feature

“Under the Sun” is a vocally driven, emotionally powerful, politically motivated single from Highasakite. The song was originally written for a live performance on a Norwegian National TV show raising money for Flyktninghjelpen (The Norwegian Refugee Council). Talking about “Under The Sun,” the band explained:
“At the time the media was filled with news about the Syrian refugees. There was such a contrast in how the public reacted to the images of those people in need. While some people answered with plain hate and rejection, other people put their life on hold to help them out.”

The single is one of four tracks on the recently released “The Bare Romantic - Part 2.”  The core members of Highasakite are Ingrid Helene Håvik and Trond Bersu, who are joined by Øystein Moen and Kristoffer Bonsaksen during live performances. Also involved on the mini-album are guitarist Stian Westerhus and traditional and fiddle composer Sarah-Jane Summers.

Lyrics of “Under The Sun” by Highasakite
I've lost my rights
And it isn't that big of a deal

I've lost my heart
And it isn't that far from the truth

I've lost my house
Are you glad to see me on the run?

I've lost my faith
You seem glad to see me come undone

Say it isn't that hard
No matter what you say, it's sounding like a lie
Save a place for me under the sun
And say it isn't that hard

I've lost my way
And it isn't that hard to believe

I've lost my hair
Like it wasn't supposed to be there

I've lost some sleep
You seem pleased to see me walk alone

I've lost my grip
You seem pleased to see me overthrown

Say it isn't that hard
No matter what you say, it's sounding like a lie
Save a place for me under the sun

And say it isn't that hard
Say it isn't that hard
No matter what you say, it's sounding like a lie
Save a place for me under the sun
[Repeat]

And say it isn't that hard
Say it isn't that hard
Say it isn't that hard
