“Better Days” by Old Sea Brigade – A Song Review

There are times when a song seems to know your patterns so well that it can be waiting for you around each turn. Currently, “Better Days” has that ability. It seems to anticipate the steps of our daily music discovery approach. But each time it appears, it’s a welcomed sound.

“Better Days” is a track by Old Sea Brigade, the performance name of Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Ben Cramer. The song excels in its vocalization and the introduction of features that seem minor in nature while playing a significant role in the presentation. A good example is the periodic chime during the final minute of “Better Days.” Oh, and we love the message of “Leave a better scene than what you've found.”

Lyrics of “Better Days” by Old Sea Brigade
And I'll go walking
As far as it … takes
And I'll go dancing
Till the rhythm it … breaks
Goodbye Goodbye

I've seen better days you know
We'll take it slow, we’ll take it slow, we’ll take it slow
Run me to the ground
Leave a better scene than what you've found

Take me down easily
It's more than I know
It's more than I see
Time stays still for a while
Running empty, running wild

I've seen better days you know
We'll take it slow, we’ll take it slow, we’ll take it slow
Run me to the ground
Leave a better scene than what you've found

I've seen better days you know
We'll take it slow, we’ll take it slow, we’ll take it slow
Run me to the ground
Leave a better scene than what you've found
[Repeat]
