“Think About You” by Sunscreen – A Song Feature

Spellcheck insists that “jangly” is not a word, but Australia’s Sunscreen pays tribute to the guitar approach made popular in the 1960s. “Think About You” is driven by jangly guitars, which is defined as undistorted, treble-heavy electric guitar. Given their love for the 1960's jangly guitar, perhaps they should be named Suntan Lotion.

Sunscreen self-identify their genre as Dream Garage. They are based in Sydney. Quoting their bio, which should be modified to include bassist Oliver Ellis:
Sunscreen emerged from a casual jam in a sharehouse garage between singer and guitarist Sarah Sykes, guitarist Alexander McDonald and drummer Hugo Levingston. Since then the band have garnered significant buzz, having performed support slots for DMAs, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Jen Cloher and Ali Barter, as well as receiving radio and video spins on Triple J, ABC’s Rage and American college radio.

Lyrics of “Think About You” by Sunscreen
T he sky is turning round
Since you came around
Oh babe
Effortless beginnings
I hope this easy feeling stays
I think about you all day

I think about you all
I think about you all day [3x]

I wanna breathe you in
And breathe my light into you, babe
I go weak at the knees
With manic need to communicate
You sit and patiently wait

I think about you all
I think about you all day
I think about you while I work
While I work
Yeah
I think about you all day

Sometimes it makes me sad
Back in time could we escape?
Before I met my fears
I hope this waiting game has paid

I fell in a dark room
For one moment my life was through
You were the one I called
Straight afterwards just simply to
Recount the story for you

I see you when I fall
I think about you all
I think about you while I work
While I work
Yeah
I think about you all day

Colder
Colder without your touch
But I’ll grow older
Before I give you enough
