What’s the song about? Primarily, it’s about the problems with international movement (Wires can’t block us now; Walls will make us climb). Originally, Leon of Athens was in Greece, a country that has facing more than its share of difficulties. Leon of Athens is the moniker of Leon Veremis, who has relocated to London. In describing the song, Leon stated:
“’Xenos’ was initially inspired by the genocide of indigenous peoples. The song refers to any oppressed group of people who are forced to leave their land. On a personal note, it also refers to the feeling of being a stranger to your own self.”
