“Adventures” by Seawaves – A Song Review

Most songs that are strong from start to end don’t lend themselves well to answering a question about “your favorite feature.” For us, an exception is “Adventures” by Seawaves. It happens in the first line of the second verse. The line begins at the 0:50 mark with a single vocalist, then switches to harmonization for the second half of “So you thrive living life on the edge of the wall.” The backing vocals are processed, but pure.

The backing vocals enter at various other times, but not with the same effect. That’s not a complaint, since we find the entire song worthwhile.

“Adventures” is a song from Seawaves, a Dreampop duo based in Manchester, UK. They are Si Van Brussel and Daniel Benjamin.

Lyrics of “Adventures” by Seawaves
Another decision to make amends
We hit the road knowing our odds and ends
At the speed of light
We’re like dynamite, yeah

So you thrive living life on the edge of the wall
Keep the pride on our side
Hallelujah that’s all
We go from city to city
Each one keeps getting more prettier

Does this feel like an adventure baby?
Cause this feels like an adventure baby!
Does this feel like an adventure baby?

We are another kind who takes a chance
Believe me we can make the raindrops dance
And our car headlights
Stream out like star lights, yeah

There’s no aim to this game
But we’ll do it all
In time we’ll climb to the top
And it’s ours
Oh yeah

Tell me, tell me, tell me
Does this feel like an adventure baby?
Cause this feels like an adventure baby!
Does this feel like an adventure baby?
Cause this feels like an adventure baby!
Does this feel like an adventure baby?
