“Storm” by Mighty Oaks – A Song Review

“Storm” is masterful in its harmonization, its strings, and its percussion. The song is the title track of an EP from Mighty Oaks. The trio is based in Berlin, although no member is from Germany. Mighty Oaks is comprised of Ian Hopper (vocals, mandolin, acoustic guitar, kick drum) from the U.S., Claudio Donzelle (vocals, banjo, guitars, mandolin, keyboard/piano) from Italy, and Craig Saunders (vocals, bass) from the U.K.

The Spotify version of the "Storm" EP is embedded in this post, since we are also strongly recommend the songs "The Dark" and "These Days."

Lyrics of “Storm” by Mighty Oaks
Some say I'm moving
From the wrong clock
That I'm lost
That I'm only reveling out
Got loose ends
Coming out

And if you close your eyes now
You can keep the world out
If you close your eyes now
You can keep it spinning around

When I'm lost in the woods
And the darkness is coming
The storm is all around
Can you hear me cry?
If I'm lost in the woods
And the darkness is coming
The storm is all around

Feels like I'm floating
Down the river
That I know
Twisting and turning
Well my head's gone down below

And if you close your eyes now
You can keep the world out
If you close your eyes now
You can keep it spinning around

When I'm lost in the woods
And the darkness is coming
The storm is all around
Can you hear me cry?
If I'm lost in the woods
And the darkness is coming
The storm is all around
Can you hear me cry?

If I'm lost in the woods
When the darkness is coming
The storm is all around
And can you hear me cry?

If I'm lost in the woods
When the darkness is coming
The storm is all around
And can you hear me cry?

Can you hear me cry?

Can you hear me cry?
