If we consider only the influence of the crowd, clearly our best concert experience in 2012 was Frightened Rabbit, again at The Independent. The camaraderie among the concert-goers was at a level we had not seen before. Strangers humbly exchanged stories about how they became aware of the band and about past Frightened Rabbit concerts. It had the appearance that, if given the choice to do anything or be anywhere that night, to a person the answer would have been, “This is where I want to be and this is band I want to see!”
One of the features in the left-hand column of this blogsite shows that Frightened Rabbit will be on late night television this week. Conan will host the band on Tuesday March 5. Also, Frightened Rabbit is returning to San Francisco. They will be at the Fillmore on March 11.
They are a Scottish band that started in 2003. The members are Scott Hutchison (lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and lyricis), Grant Hutchison (drummer), Billy Kennedy (guitarist and bassist), Andy Monaghan (guitarist), and Gordon Skene (guitarist and keyboardist). In February 2013, they released a fourth album, “Pedestrian Verse,” which we consider at least as strong as the first three.
