“Punchbag Love” by Adam French – A Song Review

Comparing the melody of “Punchbag Love” to a strong romantic relationship, there are those times of exuberance and other times when it seems there is almost no forward movement - with the totality of the moments defining the experience as a very positive one. Lyrically, “Punchbag Love” probably shouldn’t be compared to a romantic relationship – “You tie bricks to my feet; you throw me in the river.
The song has a piano intro that deserves full attention. Then, the slightly raspy and still highly attractive vocals of Adam French enter. But from our perspective, the “times of exuberance” are initiated when the tremolo guitar makes its entrance at the 2:17 mark. What follows are vocal layering and a forceful crescendo (which ends at the 3:03 mark). The totality of the features makes "Punchbag Love" a very positive experience.

Adam French is a 22 year old singer/songwriter from the Northwest of England (London via Congleton).
