“Fireproof” by Coleman Hell

     “Somebody plug in the banjo harmonica, this one’s gonna be a hit.” That sentence is an adjustment to the 2015 blog post about Coleman Hell’s “2 Heads.” In his latest release, Coleman Hell relies on the harmonica sound, rather than the banjo. It may be synth-generated, but the vocals in “Fireproof” are supported by what sounds to be a key of C harmonica.

     Coleman Hell resists characterizing his genre as Folktronica. The resistance is more defensible for “Fireproof” than with earlier tracks. But we are fans of the genre and, respectfully, assert that he is championing the genre.

     According to his Facebook page, those are Coleman’s parents who are used as the faces of “Fireproof.” He is based in Toronto, Canada. He will be performing at a number of 2016 festivals, including the BottleRock Festival in Napa, California.
