Club Yorke and Desert Ships - Free Friday/Saturday (“FL&R”)

Free and Legal Downloads? Yes, at least temporarily. Bands often temporarily permit free downloads of their releases.  The end of an offer may be based on the expiration of a set period of time or on a limited number of downloads.  But at least for now, here are songs that qualify as Free, Legal and Recommended (FL&R) downloads.
Finding songs that can be legally downloaded is easy. The difficult task is to find legally downloadable music that we recommend. Our plan is to post at least one FL&R song each Friday/Saturday.
The Melbourne-based indie rock band has embraced a new chapter of their artistry along with a recent name change. Having established a solid reputation for themselves as a formidable live band on the east coast under their former project Residual, the four piece have emerged ready to tackle 2018, as Club Yorke.
The members of Club Yorke are Sam Burtt (vocals, guitar), Andy Rankin (guitar), Josh Carter (bass), and Nick Cousins (drums).

Lyrics of “Stop The Bleeding” by Club Yorke
You were weathered and bludgeoned
By nights you had spent in rejoice
And the sounds of the gallows
They howell with a harrowing voice

Did you feel left out
By the sights and sounds
That held your fate

Don't see the ones
You love before they die
Cause it's hardly worth
The pain of being alive

Did you feel left out
By the sights and sounds
That held your fate

Did you need someone
You could learn to love
To ease the pain

Your the cause and effect
Of your own damn mess
But it's not your first
There's a saying that says
That a man is as good as his word

Did you feel left out
By the sights and sounds
That held your fate

Did you need someone
You could learn to love
To ease the pain

We're all loving someone
If only for the night
Doesn't mean we always get it right
If you're afraid of losing
Whatever's on your mind
Then I can tell you babe
We still got hell to pay
But if we don't try
We'll never stop the bleeding

If I said we were done
Would you just turn and run
Be the love of my life
Till the end of the night
And as cold and as dark
As the winters that past
We were meant to be
But we'll never last
And the light of the day
Whilst you caught in the waves
I will come to the surface
Screaming your name
And you'll answer again
But you'll call me a friend
But if we don't try
We'll never stop the bleeding

We're all loving someone
If only for the night
Doesn't mean we always get it right
If you're afraid of losing
Whatever's on your mind
Then I can tell you babe
We still got hell to pay
But if we don't try
We'll never stop the bleeding
Desert Ships are an English alternate rock band from London formed in 2012 by Mikey Buckley (guitar, vocals), Daniel McLean (bass, vocals) and Claude Trejonis (drums, vocals). Their trip-tonic sound is heavily cinematic. Haunting guitar loops and hypnotic grooves allow the dream-like melodies to weave in and amongst each other.
