In 2011, we arrived early for the second day of the Outside Lands Festival. The early shows give festival goers an opportunity to see quality bands from a great vantage point, since only the crazies even consider getting there for the first band. Well, in 2011 Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were generating some meaningful music, but they did not have the following they enjoy today. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were scheduled as the first band on that Saturday, and the people who got up early were appreciative.
“Irish Celebration” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - Still a free download. Our favorite lyric is:
Challenge us to football
Yah, we might lose
But don’t put us next to a bar stool.
Irish Steph is a name we cannot ignore today. He is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, who probably had a difficult day when he informed his parents that his career path involved electronic music.
